颈椎部位X线片上若有密度增高的表现，则一般提示颈椎部有不同程度的骨质增生。有不少患者由此就怀疑自己得了颈椎病。那么颈椎骨质增生是否就一定是颈椎病呢？什么样的颈椎病患者易产生眩晕症状？
从颈椎骨质增生起因来看，颈椎部位的骨质增生只是由于颈椎为了适应长期的运动和负荷而产生的一种生理性退行变化。这种退变是自人体出生后，随着人体的发育、生长与成熟的同时逐渐产生的，伴随着年龄增长，这种骨质增生则似乎成了所有老年人所共有的表现。除了颈椎之外，活支关节，特别是负重关节也均可见到这种现象。在大多数情况下，颈椎的骨质增生并不预示着骨赘可能或已经压迫神经，脊髓，临床上也可能不产生任何症状，所以，颈椎的骨质增生只是人体整个退化过程中的一种表现而已。
但是，一旦颈椎骨质增生后，使得椎管、椎间孔、横突孔等变狭窄，造成脊髓，脊神经根和椎动脉的刺激与压迫，并出现相应的临床状时，这就不是单纯的颈椎骨质增生，而是名副其实的颈椎病了。
所以，我们可以这样说，颈椎病的病理变化可有骨质增生，但有骨质增生并一定都得颈椎。另外，颈椎病的严重程度也并非与骨质增生的有无和大小成正比，而是要看其病理变化刺激或压迫的部位。在临床上，医生一般要通过病史、症状、体征X线片等辅助检查综合分析后才会作出诊断，而单靠X线片上有否骨质增生是不能随便下颈椎病的诊断的。所以，单纯X线片上的骨质增生仅仅为临床上提供了一些可供参考的资料。

RockTheOcean4meI saw one white shark in all my dives. It came from the back and it was a meter away orso, then out of sight it turned and came satirght towards me and my buddy with that grin. Max 10 m before us it took a 90 degree turn and disappeared. That was uhm, impressive at the least.The shark was followed by a baby so she could have done more to protect her kid but she didn’t.
